Reconfiguring The Plan

December 05, 2020

Hello, and a happy Saturday to you.

Why do this blog? Why share my thoughts so often? Why try to stay creative during this horrible year?

Because, we all need each other to help each other.

Many of my closest friends know that I have a complicated relationship with social media and the pitfalls of it. We all struggle with the new smoking habit, known as "scrolling"...I'm trying to utilize it and yet respect it at the same time.

This is just a strange time to reconfigure the plan, internally. The music industry is in a black hole right now. I feel it, my friends feel it. Most non-musicians can't even begin to grasp it. It's just kind of become the way it is, for now.

Where we are at:
- Music sales are declining (CDs, downloads, etc...), but social media is winning!
- COVID, of course (shows canceled, tours canceled, etc...), but, video conferencing is up!
- Digital streaming has replaced so many things (it's relatively affordable, convenient and vast), but, tangible connection to the musician isn't what it used to be.

Anyway, I guess I probably sound like an old man about this sort of thing, but, I've come to realize more recently...If you can't beat 'em, Like,  Subscribe and Scroll...carefully!
