Sunday Tech Thoughts

January 10, 2021

by Tyler Williams

Good afternoon!

Tomorrow CES begins...all online.

Today I'll be outlining things to cover, from a musicians perspective. Sounds like fun during a pandemic, right? Believe me, I'd much rather be playing a gig with real instruments, in real time. But...

Remember when Apple's iTunes took over the CD sales world? A lot of musicians (including myself) fought the movement. Now, we all have to stream stuff to stay relevant. The CD's are gone, and so are the gigs (thanks to the pandemic). The old saying, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" is all too real these days.

Please let me know what value you have in your tech! What is a favorite app you use? What is a favorite piece of gear you use for practicing or for gigs? Or...for online work? Are you able to adjust to using more tech to get your music out there? Are you collaborating?

A few of my musician friends really like using their tablets for reading and performing. I have been throwing around ideas to help musicians with their tech and how to get the most of out of our gear. How about a bit of an online class or some sort of a coaching service? Would you be interested in this sort of thing?

Let's stay in touch!
