The Last Full Moon of 2020

December 29, 2020

by Tyler Williams

Good afternoon,

Well, this year is ending soon and most of us are relieved that the yearly digits will soon change from 2020 to 2021. I'm not sure if January 1 will be much different from December 31 as far as a brighter worldly outlook, but, I can appreciate the optimism for the numbers moving on. 2020 has been nothing much more than the proverbial dumpster fire.

On a positive note, some pretty cool music has come my way throughout the pandemic months. Some of the songs have just gotten me through a day or evening, just because.

Here are three vastly different instrumental favorites (with links) I've listened to in 2020.
(I have no affiliation with Spotify or YouTube, by the way)

- Silence Is Golden (Lettuce) - A great tune by a great funk band. I've been listening to these guys for years and this tune just makes me smile.

- Olympus Mons (Rick Wakeman) - What can I say. This guy is a legend! Dena thinks (and is probably right) I have a man crush on him. His instrumental music always makes me smile. This song dedicated to the Mars volcano is no exception.

- The Moon's A Harsh Mistress (Pat Metheny/Charlie Haden) - One of my all-time favorite versions of this tune, by songwriter Jimmy Webb. Step outside, and enjoy the sky with this one.

Please share with me any interesting music that has been getting you through this pandemic as well. I humbly challenge you to pick 3 "vastly different" tunes and send them to me!

By the way, tonight is a full moon. The last one for 2020!

Cheers,

Tyler
