Making The Sausage

Making The Sausage

So, on Friday (2/26/2021) I finished the final 2 interviews with my band! Things went really well during the conversations this week. The content, the laughs, and the reconnecting with my wonderful Le Rêve band has been inspiring to me to keep going.

However, I had a weird thing happen with my Zoom recordings! Apparently, and I'm not even kidding, there are 3 places to change settings (and preferences) with your meetings. There are the regular preferences on the desktop app, the individual meeting preferences as you set up an invite, AND, there are a slew of preferences on the actual website for Zoom. What a fiasco! (Something my dad would say)

Now, all of this tech is really amazing, and I'm grateful we've had some sort of a way to access our family, coworkers, and friends. BUT, it is so frustrating that by unchecking one little thing on the website can derail the way the entire interview gets recorded onto my Mac! I also discovered that the recorded files went to the cloud because I changed a setting to "auto record" - somewhere? I am currently trying to focus on my audio for the podcast, and prefer separated audio as indicated as checked on the "main" preferences in the Zoom settings. It's still checked, but the auto record to the cloud won't do such a recording!

Anyway, I don't want to complain too much more about this, as I am getting some tech help via email. But, many do not care how the TV show, movie, album, etc. is really made. But, it is grueling and uninspiring to say the least at times! I also realized yesterday that I'm more annoyed that I'm not playing shows with my band and having coffee with them after our soundcheck anymore. That is much more frustrating than reading the Zoom tech help page.

Thank you for letting me rant.

Enjoy the sausage coming your way soon. (Angela, get your mind out of the gutter!)
